The EVH 5150 Series Standard 6-String Electric Guitar with Ebony Fingerboard (Right-Handed, Black) is engineered for speed, comfort, and full-throttle attitude, blending both throwback and modernized features from the past. Mirroring its predecessor, the 5150 Standard features a modified Strat-style basswood body with a deeper upper body curve for increased performance comfort.
The graphite-reinforced bolt-on Quartersawn maple neck boasts a comfortable modified C profile, a hand-rubbed satin urethane back finish, a heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel, and a color-matched hockey stick headstock adorned with the EVH logo decal. Crafted for smooth and speedy playability, the 12-16 inch compound radius ebony fingerboard hosts 22 jumbo frets and cream dot inlays.
Unlike the famed striped original which had a single humbucking bridge pickup, the all-new 5150 is outfitted with an HH pickup configuration controlled by a three-way toggle switch on the upper bout. This versatile control layout allows players to explore the tonal landscape, with position one engaging the bridge pickup for robust rhythm riffing, position two engaging both pickups, and position three's neck pickup providing a warmer tone for leads.
Reminiscent of the early super-Strat body styles, the modified Strat-style body features a deeper upper body curve that hugs the player's frame for increased performance comfort. The guitar is also equipped with an EVH-branded Floyd Rose locking tremolo, which incorporates the EVH logo stamped on the bridge plate, steel saddles, and a solid brass block.
